Spatial Design

Our Spatial Design students design human environments from the inside out. They are experts at finding their way into new situations by interpreting and analysing them spatially, experientially, and culturally. They reinvent, reconfigure, redesign, and renovate , working creatively and critically with what already exists. Their work addresses interior design, performance design for stage and film, furniture, urban placemaking, as well as on design for exhibitions and events.

In their graduating project, students explored Fort Lane in downtown Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, site of the city’s first cinema, and are proud to present a collection of new visions for this public space.
