An Ode to Craft

‘An Ode to Craft’ is a body of work dedicated to the art form of crochet.

This collection is designed for longevity and durability. When designing and making during an extended lockdown, additional sustainable practices and approaches were developed. Limited access to yarn meant that pre-worn garments from my existing wardrobe and initial prototypes were unravelled and re-used to create final garments, this approach reflects that of British World War II Make Do and Mend movement. The re-used nature of the wool adds character and texture to each newly made item, resulting in a natural organic feel when worn.
