Project A-1
Summary -
The story starts by following a mysterious cat-like creature, Tulu, who mistakenly awakens a female humanoid robot, A-1, when woken up A-1 doesn't remember much just a vague memory next to the Eiffel tower in Paris and is noticeably void of any emotions. Tulu being lonely and never seeing anything like A- 1 decides to follow her as she leaves. We then follow them through different areas and watch their relationship go from strangers to friends, at the same time we watch A-1 slowly recover her emotions and memories until they reach Paris and all of her memories rush back, causing her regains all her emotions.
A-1 is a three-man group project with Benny Chen, Eric Kang and I, with each of us focusing on a different aspect of the project. My research question is “How can I use 3d modelling and texturing to provide an environmental set dressing that helps progress the story, support the worldbuilding, and give insight into character creation (notably the environment itself)?”.
I wanted to explore the backgrounds in the films and how they affected the story being shown to the audience and how I can utilize the environment to further the story. The project is about a humanoid robot named A-1 who gets woken up to an abandoned post-apocalyptic world with no memories or emotions, and her only companion is a strange cat-like creature. We follow them as they walk around the barren world and watch as she slowly regains her emotions and memories from her past.
