A place of emotional remembrance

A colourful kaleidoscopic reflective space inspired by the film La La Land and its colourful character portrayal. These four coloured projector rooms give people the chance to look at memories through a new colour, triggering emotions and forgotten memories.

A space designed for the Auckland public, set in Imperial Lane designed as a reflective space to reminisce old memories in a new way. Inspired by the film La La Land and how colour is used to show the journey of the main characters. There are four monochromatic rooms with a slide projector in each, giving people the opportunity to see their memories in a new light, using colour to trigger forgotten emotions. Upon entrance from Forte Lane, a kaleidoscopic facade will greet them along with kaleidoscope light wells inside. In the main foyer, there is a large hanging image display piece. In addition, this is where people can hang their image of choice in the colour they chose to display around the room. From here it will rotate clockwise and allow people to stop and look at the coloured images around the room.
