Our music video "Cycle" describes a lost soul who struggles to find himself due to societal pressures.

He continues in his dull, repetitive life cycle until the catalyst for change comes in and inspires him to step out of his comfort zone and chase his dream of becoming a musician.

Cycle is a personal exploration of how 2d and 3d animations can be used in music videos, directing audiences to specific emotions experienced by the filmmakers. This project is a team-based project, and Christian and Yuli worked together. Cycle is a music video that shows the main character trying to escape from his repeated daily life. Interestingly, people can read their emotions even in short animations. I wanted to know if people could read expressions and emotions in music videos, where music is the main content and music first/visual second. In doing so, I explored whether the expressions and emotions of 3d and 2d animation can permeate well into the music video. For my Capstone project, I am interested in whether people can feel the same emotions as the creator(s) of the intended animation. People often feel the characters' feelings when they watch movies or animations. It is about bringing out the emotions that the producer wants. I would like to know if it will be possible in a music video.

My interests were in the emotional delivery of non-existent things that elicit empathy. Therefore, I posed the question, "Can expressing the character's emotions and atmosphere through (the effect of) 2d and 3d integration within an animated music video gives viewers a complete sense of immersion?".
