“All My Life Caught Up In a Cycle”
Cycle is a self-challenging and explorational journey that assists me in exploring a brand-new genre of video. Our capstone project Cycle is framed as a narrative music video.
Our music video "Cycle" describes a lost soul who struggles to find himself due to societal pressures. He continues in his dull, repetitive life cycle until the catalyst for change comes in and inspires him to step out of his comfort zone and chase his dream of becoming a musician.

Cycle is a self-challenging and explorational journey that assists me in exploring a brand-new genre of video. Our capstone project Cycle is framed as a narrative music video. The narrative music video genre manifests a story following the stages of the beginning, the middle and the end; it is one of the genres that I have not yet explored or got in touch with. However, it is indeed one of the genres that I have always been wishing to explore. My biggest challenge in creating a narrative music video is to successfully link the content of the imagery with the lyrics of the song to portray the meaning or the story behind the song and deliver message or achieve an emotional response from the audience. Therefore, this project leads me to the exploration and practical elements of my research question:
“How can I link the imagery of the video and its narrative with the lyrics from the song to visually portray deeper meaning within our music video?”
