A short 3D animation surrounding character narrative set in a dystopian future

Error 413 was a project designed to facilitate my growth as an artist as much as possible. My research question was "How can I use cyberpunk aesthetics and character design to produce a character-driven short animation that communicates inner character monologue?"

I chose this research question to explore how I can improve my skills in animation relative to body language and expression within a realistic set of parameters; a genre that provided me with a set of scenarios that were effective in presenting emotion and action.

Focusing on character narratives, I focused around how I can present a monologue without the use of dialogue between characters. Further, I wanted to present a story that allowed me to experiment with modeling, rigging and animating characters for dramatic movements and poses. This project was also a team effort; I worked alongside Rita Ko to produce animated scenes and environments, stitching them together to present the narrative effectively.
