Extinction Zone

Extinction Zone is a Sci-Fi linear first-person shooter game. The player plays as a  human special force soldier who needs to against alien enemies alone inside an overgrown, ruined city. In this project, you can experience three different simple encounters with low strategic values and two other open battlefields that contain high strategic values with more interesting enemy ai. Observe the battlefield, make strategic plans based on it, find the best solution during combat, and gain engaging combat experience.

My research question is, "How can I use level design to help explore an engaging combat experience and create a linear game level base on it? "This research aims to determine the practical usage of level design elements to help create an engaging combat experience and use these elements to create a game level.

The game 'ExtinctionZone' combines the player character movement, weapons, enemies, wholly original level and battlefield design to create an engaging combat experience and successfully create a linear game level.
