A mergence of my Scottish Heritage and Balletic past

This body of work was an exploration of my Scottish Heritage and balletic past, conceptualised to create a distinct design language that was authentic to me and my aesthetic.

Using traditional methods of Scottish Highland kilt making was integral to the collection - each skirt uses 4-6 metres of fabric, pleated and doubled over to create a single kilt. In contrast to the heavily weighted nature of colour and fabric used, my balletic inspiration informed the details - sand-casting hand-crafted aluminium buttons were used throughout.
