This project takes its initial inspiration from the original, first edition versions of popular children's fictional stories that are of a perverse and brutal nature and not suitable for children at all. Looking at traditional hunting and picnic wear from the late 1800s and exploring themes of intimidation, innocence, comfort, and discomfort, as a tool for storytelling, the work investigates how a sense of visual and emotional discomfort can be created through the juxtaposition of ideas and design by exploring the uncomfortable place between a contemporary and historical fashion context.
