Olivia Francis

Phenomenology, the philosophy of the lived experience, is explored through the familiarity of flowers that are offerings and gifts that express empathy. I create from a place of memory and comfort and am inspired by my abundant garden at home. My reflections of time spent in the garden with flowers are shown through highly saturated and evocative scenes that express how I visualise the joy of nature through colour. Running my hands over petals and picking leaves like a child discovering their senses, I immerse myself in the meadow of thick paint and whimsical colours.
