Melancholy of Minds

Bachelor of Visual Arts Mixed Media Painting Identity Power Temporary Art Practices

My paintings are complex terrains that map the melancholic of human beings using figures and surrealistic symbols and aspects drawing on compositional conventions of pattering, and the expression that emphasises the language of the unseen energies in ourselves. It’s feelings that are driven by my experiences through my relationships and the companies that are surrounding me.

I’m interested in consciousness and unconsciousness from dreams and reality. The unconscious mind and inside feelings of human beings, because I believe in the origins of life. I always felt a sense of good and evil around me. As I’m getting older it’s becoming an important energy inside my consciousness, influenced by movies and animations that I watched growing up; mystery, horror or justice themes, that make me think deeply about the interaction between good and evil energies.

The bold and dark-coloured thorns and roses represent the struggling feelings of youth. I believe we need to be socially conscious to see the real world, outside our own environment. We need to struggle for personal development and open ourselves to the experience of struggle. Everyone has an individual moral compass and philosophy of life, some people don’t care, but there are people who still seek personal development and are open to the struggle of life.
