This body of work evokes childhood memories allowing me to express personal feelings and experiences of my youth.

I rarely saw my father because he was busy with his work during my childhood, which led to a sense of alienation between us, like a stranger I wanted to escape and hide from. The first time I travelled with my father was to Qinghai, a province located on the Tibetan plateau. Although his friends travelled with us, it was on this trip that I felt our relationship begin to change. My concept works to convey the distant relationship I had with my father during my childhood and the subsequent change via a study of Tibetan Buddhism. Simple silhouettes are made from the method of subtraction-cutting, flat colours work to represent the weighted feelings of depression.
