An Exploration of the Bond Between Human and Dog

Pino is an animated short story inspired by my experience growing up with two pets. The work instigates a heart-warming reflection and understanding of the unbreakable bond between man and dog. My purpose is to highlight how protective and caring dogs are and allows the viewer to reflect on their childhood experiences. With these thoughts in mind, I propose that pets can be crucial in a child's growth and emotional development.

My main focus of this project was to investigate how exploring subjective experiences can create a stylised homage to my dog through character design and storytelling. I have decided to tackle this subject due to the vital role that a childhood pet played in my life. This memoir and tribute towards my pets allow me to communicate how significant it is for a child to have a parallel connection for better development and emotional maturity. In creating such a story, I feel tremendous pressure in the performance and execution of our characters. Mainly how the character of Pino can generate a sense of security, friendship, and protection that will have a wider reach and understanding for the viewer.
