A look into the mind of a lonesome taxi driver

We set out this year to create a hybrid 3D-animation about a sociopathic taxi driver who dreams of horrible ways to murder his annoying passengers, he does this to cope with boredom, In the production phase I was mostly involved in the simulating and rendering of the project, as well as taking care of the lighting, cinematography and realistic clothing creation.

In film we often expect a film with boring subject matter to be bland and unexciting, but with the use of cutting edge animation technology and a worthwhile plot, we can ask “What is the creative potential for the "mundane" within a hybrid-style animation, and does this challenge our approach for designing banal elements in animation?”. This document goes over how I, and my small team, produced our short animated film, “R3AR V13W,” a film that highlights the mental battle of a lonesome taxi driver as he descends into madness and hallucinates various ways he will murder his annoying passengers.
