Summer Ryan

My graduate collection is my way of exploring and communicating a sense of the uncanny through the usage of animal materials, extending the life of the dead. I have drawn my main inspiration from my love of historical research, fused with my Kiribati heritage, and combined it with my interest in costume design. Through traditional methods of spinning and cuir bouilli, I am revisiting the historical uses of fibre in clothing.
