In their death, they are the greatest gift of life.

This short film is dedicated to my dog, Luna, who died in July while I was making this project. The story follows a bear and her cub out to their first fishing trip together, which then turns into a life lesson about brutality for the sake of survival and the meaning of sacrifice and death as per the natural order of the world. My main focus was the colour, light and texture aspects of the 3D pipeline. The art style allows me to be more artistic with the vision of the film without needing to stay tethered to realism. The story was a chance to meditate on what it means for us to sacrifice, and to experience the death of someone that will not understand life the same way you do.
