Appetent Coincidences

A cyclical-suckle. A system facilitated by an innate desire for nourishment and pleasure.

Appetent Coincidences presents diagrammatic sculptures enacting a transference of liquids through fluctuating symbols standing in for the body and its appendages. A transformation occurs. As liquid travels, it thins and thickens, milk to semen. The opaque fluid of a motherly organ becomes lightly clouded as a familiar object stiffens into phallic erection.

A clinical environment exists only to be perturbed by the presence of grime; traces of touch, greasy fingertips and saliva smeared lips staining surfaces. The work finds common language in silicone ‘toys’, polished metals, and glass surfaces, all able to be sterilised. Forms and liquids remain equivocal; each alternating between momentary definition and elusion as the suggested flow cycles continuously through each component existing within this modelled biological system.

An urge is produced: insert loose ends into corresponding holes. Your holes — mouth or otherwise.
