A Villain Lair Inspired Comic Book Store

Arcane Den finds its roots in the world of black and white comic books, celebrated for their artful play of light and shadow. Inspired by my childhood James Bond comic readings, I drew from the aesthetics of the mid century modern James Bond villains' lairs designed by Ken Adams and Safin's Lair in 'No Time To Die.' Arcane Den caters to a mature audience interested in black and white comics, envisioned as a private event space and reading nook where people are able to lounge, observe and enjoy a beverage (martini preferably).

Translucent concrete in the shopfront creates an evolving ambiance, offering glimpses of silhouettes both inside and out. As night falls, the store front transforms, revealing silhouettes mirroring the movements inside. In contrast, during the day, the concrete storefront discreetly blends with its surroundings, preserving the street's charm. The frontage showcases modern comic grids due to the concrete pillars and bookshelf shadows, offering live-action scenes akin to stepping into a real life comic book.
