My primary goal and the heart of my capstone project is to inspire upcoming artists and animators from Pacific/Polynesian backgrounds to evaluate themselves as characters, to ask themselves “what is most important to me in my journey?” With this goal in mind, I have developed my research question, one that began as a random thought has now evolved into a specific, vital question that I hoped to find the answer to through the outcome of my capstone project.

2D hand-drawn animation is the primary medium I chose for this project because it is the only art form I can push to my limits as an artist/animator and as planned, I wish to inspire young Pacific artists who grew up with the same traditions and burdens as me through the same medium that inspired me from a young age – 2D Animation.
