Connecting to Belgian Culture through the observation of history, language and poetry.

Belgique Dialects is a publication investigating the relationship between history, visual language, and poetry to reclaim a lost cultural identity in connection with Belgium. The Secret Belgian-bound publication features archival photographs, risograph printing, heritage, and poetry, arranged in a concertina format to represent the rediscovery of Belgian identity. A separate section of the publication holds a concertina, which holds poetry that explores the Authors personal experience trying to reconnect to culture. It examines the emotions of cultural displacement, offering a reflection on the challenges that reside within feelings of being culturally disconnected. Belgique Dialects investigates how we can begin to understand culture and ourselves through observing the relationship between history and language.
