Born of Loess is a menswear collection inspired by my homeland — the Loess Plateau in Shanxi, China, a place defined by its rugged landscape, muted tones, and the quiet strength of its people. The collection explores how geography and culture shape identity, transforming memories of this land into a modern design language. By combining traditional Chinese one-piece cutting methods with contemporary outdoor aesthetics, the project reinterprets heritage through functionality and minimalism. Each garment is designed to reflect resilience, adaptability, and cultural depth, echoing the wisdom and endurance of the Loess Plateau. Through sustainable material choices and refined craftsmanship, Born of Loess bridges the past and the present, celebrating both personal memory and collective identity. It represents not only where I come from but also how design can preserve and reimagine culture in today’s global fashion context.
