Bound

Bound is a comic and manga store combined with an experience centre, designed to unite the Newmarket community through creativity and shared passion.

Its striking façade features bold, geometric panels inspired by the comic gutter that are bound together, designed to naturally draw the eye and guide visitors in from the bustling Newmarket Mall, straight into the heart of Bound. Inside, the space is thoughtfully divided into two unique areas. One half serves as a retail and reading zone, showcasing a curated selection of both new and vintage works. A key focus of this area is the promotion of local artists and comic/manga creators and authors, fostering connections and interactions within the community by giving emerging talent a platform to shine.

The second half of the store is an interactive book-binding workshop, where customers can bring their own comic or manga ideas to life. The experience begins in the art room, where guests can develop their stories, and ends in the binding room, where their creations are brought to physical form. Participants can even opt to sell their finished works in the store, creating a cycle of creation, collaboration, and support—further strengthening the bonds within the Newmarket community.
