Boyhood

Boyhood (소년기) is a bilingual letter book built around one question with no fixed answer: when do we become adults?

I grew up moving between countries, holding on to faith, and wandering for a long time. Somewhere along the way I noticed that nobody told me when I had become an adult. It seemed to happen in small moments I only recognised later. So I wrote to myself. The book holds twelve letters from who I am now to who I was at different ages, carrying the questions I had back then and the things I can only say now.

Written in Korean and English and bound by hand with a Coptic stitch, the book can be opened at any page. Tracing-paper letters, a postcard set and a stamp invite the reader to write back. It is made for anyone who has grown up but still does not quite feel like an adult.
