Buns & Dreams is about a cat called Miri rekindling his hope and joy for baking when a little Pandesal bun comes to life from one of his recipes. This project was inspired by a Pinterest image of bread with legs, my love for baking growing up, and my desire to one day have a cat. Through this project, I wanted to animate characters with simplistic facial features to convey emotions to the audience and explored texturing and rendering methods to produce the final look. Meant as a light-hearted film, it features a cartoon aesthetic and silly characters which I wanted to animate doing little shenanigans whilst conveying the bigger idea of finding joy in the journey you take to achieve your dreams.
