This project explored how serious character design uses body movement without facial expression to tell a simple story, make it easier for audiences to understand, show the characters' goals and what they try to achieve, and show the level of my modelling skills. My research question for this project is "How can I create a 3D character model that showcases emotions through the character's movement to tell the story without facial expressions to a wider audience?". The story is about a giant mech named Mech-26 fighting a giant monster named Tyran in the wasteland environment to protect the people in the city. For character design inspiration, I got the giant mech inspiration from Pacific Rim: Uprising's Gipsy Avenger Jaeger, and the giant monster inspiration is from the Ultraman Tiga kaiju named Golza. This project is an individual project, strongly focused on character design, modelling, and animating its movements in animation.
