Companions of the Void

Companions of the Void (COTV) is the creation of an immersive 3D fantasy game that explores the development of parasocial relationships through meaningful interactions with in-game characters. Follow the narrative through gameplay to build trust, form emotional connections, and strengthen relationships. Through dialogue, relationship progression systems, and player-driven choices, COTV encourages players to reflect on the nature of companionship and connections. The development of the game draws upon research, prototyping, visual design, user testing, and reflective practice to create an engaging experience that addresses the question: “How can video games be used to form parasocial relationships through an immersive RPG?”
