Distribution and Trans(mission)(lation), an image with no end, is conceptually informed by change in individuals brought about by contexts and networks, real and digital. I translated this conceptual thinking into methods to support and blend into intuitive decisions while painting. These paintings are both individual images and a collective image. They all have beginnings, middles and ends but there is no way the pieces fit together to tell the whole story. This is due to my method of hanging the paintings on the wall as an ensemble, working on them, then rearranging and working on them again. This generative approach creates a continual response and relationship that I build with the work during the making. It is a reciprocal cycle of action and inaction that is iterative; of corrupting, disrupting and masking then working from the residuals. A process of constant reaction to recontextualisation, both with new marks and colours and the planes that shift and reorientate themselves to each other and me.
