Do You Pledge? is a hybrid 2D-3D animated short film following Ānura, a girl facing cultural removal who must reclaim her ancestral heritage to resist an institution demanding she abandon it. The film explores themes of assimilation, identity, and self-determination through a hybrid 2D-3D pipeline.

Developed in collaboration with four others, Rafabelle-Kathryn Bastida, Michaela Morton, Breana-Ann Kaponga, and Abigail Stone, I was responsible for the film's rigging, look development, lighting, FX simulations, compositing, final sound mixing, and editing. My research investigated the technical strategies for integrating physically simulated VFX into anime/comic-inspired art styles within a hybrid 2D-3D pipeline, examining how kinetic force, colour, and shape can be tuned to shape the audience's emotional response.
