Empowering University Students to overcome self-doubt, build confidence, and prioritise self-care through a Guidance Book and Affirmation Cards

Empower Your Inner Self explores how purpose-driven publication design can support university students in overcoming self-doubt, enhancing self-confidence, and building effective self-care habits. Targeted specifically at students dealing with self-doubt that comes from both academic pressure and personal challenges, the project features a guidance booklet and affirmation cards that encourage self-reflection and proactive steps toward personal growth and fulfilment.

Using a modern, playful visual style—marked by vibrant colours, friendly typefaces, and conceptual illustrations—I designed the materials to create a comforting, personal experience for readers. The visual language reflects the project’s goal, reinforcing the idea that students can grow by engaging with these resources. My design process included sketching, human-centred research, prototyping, and gathering critical feedback, which informed each aspect of the final visual language and intended purpose.

My project demonstrates how design can address emotional challenges faced by students, encouraging a supportive journey toward self-empowerment. It highlights the importance of interactive resources and personalised support in helping students cultivate a positive mindset and recognise their self-worth, exploring the impact that this has on both their academic performance and personal well-being.
