영원의 메아리

ETERNAL ECHOES, 영원의 메아리 explores the integration of traditional Korean ceramics into contemporary design, focusing on both preserving and reinterpreting these art forms. My project aimed to bridge the historical significance of Korean ceramics with modern design sensibilities, drawing inspiration from the past to inform present-day design practices.

The project involved the creation of a publication featuring augmented reality (AR) visuals, alongside a ceramic case inspired by four distinct types of Korean ceramics: Buncheong ware, Goryeo Celadon, Baekja, and Cheonghwa Baekja. I based my design decisions on Korean philosophies and aesthetic principles, using these to shape the project’s visual language. The AR integration allows users to interact with and explore the unique characteristics of each ceramic style, providing a contemporary and immersive experience.

By combining traditional techniques with modern technology, my project seeks to highlight how design can preserve and reinterpret cultural heritage. The goal is to make Korean ceramic traditions more accessible and engaging to today’s audiences, while offering a new perspective on how contemporary design can honour and revitalise ancient practices. This project contributes to the ongoing conversation around cultural preservation and innovation in design.
