Bachelor of Design Action Game Game Design Shaders and Post-processing

Etherwilt is a 3D action game set in a world stuck in a cycle of life and death. Ether, the life force of the world, is diminishing, leaving its inhabitants corrupted and incomplete. Only immortal beings, known as guardians, are immune to the ether cycle. The protagonist is thrown into this world, with no past, and no memories. Guided by a mysterious individual, the protagonist is left with no choice but to move onwards, and discover what lies ahead.

This project was made in collaboration with Bruno Possamai and Philip Xie. My role in this project was art direction, handling all aspects of the game’s visual presentation, such as shaders, character modelling, animation, VFX, and UI. I aimed to tightly integrate Etherwilt's visuals with the narrative theme of 'life and death'.
