Expendable

My project explored the research question of:

How can I use 3d animation on a chase scene between a soft limbed robot and a creature in a action paced scene by using exaggerated squash and stretch to create fluidity in the movements that replicates rubber hose animation to an extent.

I had to make this short film around 90 seconds long with a the time limit being a semester (15 weeks).

My main idea for this project was to improve my animation skills by learning how to animate in a exaggerated way. It seemed relevant cause I always enjoyed more stylized versions of animations and I wanted to be able to do it at least once while I was studying at AUT.

It was a bit hard to do this with the rig that I obtained but luckily the stretching on the body was good and for areas where I couldn't make the rig stretch well I would use smear frames instead to replicate it.
