Welcome to my utopia.

This project explores the unique lens through which I, an artist with dyslexia, view and interpret society's expectations. I use my art practice to communicate the struggles and challenges that have been prevalent in my life.

My painting practice mirrors my desire to remove the mask of attempting perfection and allows me to paint authentically. In doing so I gain independence and rely solely on my intuition, impulse and decisive actions.

Blue is a colour I gravitate towards. In my series, blue emits a subtle expression of safety, comfort, routine, and melancholy - all aspects that reduce the loud noise that I interpret from bolder hues.

Working impulsively helps me to take risks and be spontaneous. Pressure of the outcome is removed, helping me work with ease. The subjects I work on become more meaningful to me when I withdraw my focus. The willingness to embrace uncertainty leads to innovative ideas and unique creative expressions. By not overthinking each step, I can explore unfamiliar territories and discover new dimensions within my paintings.
