Glint is a 3D and 2D short mixed-media animation. The story follows a thief who is caught in a security firm's premises and must outrun the guard who was sent out. Set in the future and inspired by the environment of the game Mirror's Edge, created by DICE and published by EA, I focus on a lot of negative space and less visual clutter, using natural colours in an artificial setting to create a futuristic yet isolated atmosphere.
The character designs are based on the works of Genndy Tartakovsky, especially Samurai Jack. They feature a simplified, flatter design while maintaining their own style with sharp edges for a punkish feel. The animations were created using both Krita and Toon Boom Harmony, utilising a mix of frame-by-frame and cut-out animation techniques.
