Capstone Project

Project Voidborn is a cinematic 3D environment that invites viewers into the silent aftermath of an unknown disaster. It is set within the cold, derelict corridors of a research space station. The environment immediately reveals through lighting, sound, and visual decay that something has gone deeply wrong, although the nature of that story is left unclear.

The project focuses entirely on atmosphere and environmental storytelling. Clutter, decay, and subtle narrative cues, such as blood trails, flickering lights, and malfunctioning machinery, suggest the aftermath of a catastrophic event. The atmosphere is dense with tension, isolation, and quiet dread, and the flickering lights, drifting dust, and faint mechanical hums all contribute to an oppressive sense of unease.

Every element, from the architecture to the color palette, was designed to immerse the viewer in a feeling of isolation and dread. Created using Unity Engine, Maya, and Substance Painter, Project Voidborn seeks to evoke unease not through overt displays, but through the quiet tension of an environment that feels alive and aware of your presence.
