Tactile Touch

This series of photographic images explores the relationship between the 5 senses and how they interact with each other to develop fragments of time, also known as memory. Using ‘mental imagery’ to visualise how an object once felt between our fingertips. Sense of touch helps humans to form relationships with other humans and objects, to develop an emotional connection. I wanted to experiment with whether human beings are able to feel the sensations of an object from a photographic image with our sense of sight. With each image, the material starts to become more dense, like the flow of time. The pieces sticking out are the memories in our heads piecing themselves together so the viewer can get the sensation of touching the materials.
