A place for users to connect, share and read.
Inspired by cherished childhood memories, and reading comics that taught me about my cultural background, Katha Corner envisions a vibrant comic book store that celebrates the rich tapestry of storytelling. Functioning as both a bookstore and a library it offers a space for users to connect, share, and read. The heart of the design is the captivating jali screen facade, this traditional Indian architectural element, a nod to my Indian heritage, also offers a functional purpose, giving visitors a glimpse into the world of comics. The obstructed view sparks a sense of imagination while creating a harmonious indoor-outdoor visual connection. The interior features inviting seating areas, from a conversation pit, encouraging connection to a reserved table space, allowing users to immerse themselves in stories. Katha Corner seeks to cultivate a community space where the love of comics intertwines with cultural heritage, sparking imagination and connection for all who enter.
