You're Never Too Old To Collect Joy

Kidulting is a research-led publication that explores adult figurine and toy collecting, questioning why we collect and what makes these objects meaningful beyond their physical value. Through the lens of material culture, the project examines the motivations, behaviours and personal experiences that shape collecting, exploring the relationship between people and the objects they choose to keep.

The publication is divided into two sections. More Than Objects explores the psychology of collecting, emotional attachment, adult play, collecting communities and consumer culture. The Archive presents a personal collection of figurines, highlighting the individual stories and experiences connected to each piece.

Through playful visual design, tactile materials and interactive elements, Kidulting invites readers to look beyond the objects themselves and consider what collecting means to the people who take part in it.
