More Than Magic is my group capstone film, for which I served as the lead animator and lead compositor, and also contributed to FX animation and concept art. The story follows Luna, a young girl, and her adoptive witch mother, Myradia, as they navigate the complexities of family and love. Aimed at families, particularly parents and young children, the film explores themes of affection, empathy, and understanding through a cute, minimalistic art style and dynamic frame-by-frame animation.

The project was guided by the research question: “How can simplifying human anatomy into basic volumes enhance the understanding of movement and improve the readability of character poses in a 2D animated narrative short film?” Through this exploration, I examined how breaking anatomy down into fundamental forms can enhance clarity, movement, and emotional expression, resulting in animation that feels both visually engaging and emotionally resonant.
