[NO ] MINDSEYE by Eden-Rose Drollet
This practice-led research project considers how creative
ideas develop without voluntary mental imagery. The inquiry
is developed through 50 sound-responsive drawings that
document my experience of designing with aphantasia. Music
provides a starting point, while each composition develops
through making and responding to marks on the page. The
resulting companion publications bring research insight
into aphantasia alongside visual depictions of this process,
supported by a cassette box set and five posters. The project
aims to question the assumed role of visualisation in design
education and expand awareness of how creative thinking can
take shape through making.
