This project explored how character design and motifs can enhance storytelling and narrative depth in a 2D animation format based on the research question "How can I use motifs and storytelling in design to create a 2D animated character that impacts viewers' first impressions in a way that hints at the story?". The project revolved around producing a 2D short animation titled 'Nora Magica' in collaboration with Jasmine Voss and Cindy Xu. The story is about Nora, a magical girl, fighting in a post-apocalyptic world against a monster named 'Janus'. This project drew inspiration from Sailor Moon and Puella Magi Madoka Magica. My main focus in the project was the character designs and animation.
