A Portrait of Community, documented through 1:1 Qur’an Spines
Qur’ans of Auckland documents the visual diversity of 144 Qur’ans used by Muslims across Auckland. Through photography, archival research and editorial design, the project explores how differences in scale, material, language, typography, ornamentation and signs of use shape each physical muṣḥaf.
