Skincare branding and packaging to promote body confidence

Real Bodies aims to celebrate the unique and natural forms of women and disrupt the detrimental internalisation of beauty ideals by using a combination of design conventions to invoke the start of a conversation. Additionally, this project aims to contribute to a healthy standard of beauty for future generations of women by breaking the unrealistic cycles that have followed generations.

This project investigates how the creative practice of branding and packaging design can alter the perception of beauty. It specifically explores how skincare branding can improve the well-being of young women by encouraging them to embrace their natural beauty without the need to edit their photos and use filters on social media. The project considers brands and practitioners such as Dove, Frank Body and Hermine Bourdin who work towards improving the perception of beauty for young women.
