Entering the store you are greeted by the paper-making space. Guided by the instructions; you can drop your paper waste off and begin making paper

Reforme takes its inspiration from the formless space found within the comic gutters. A space where things are known yet unknown, formed then reformed. A place where time is undefined.

Inspired by my brothers collection of comics gathering dust in their cupboards, I wanted to create a way of bringing these unwanted but preloved items a new life.

This retail experience will immerse the client in an environment where they can transform their old paper waste into new sheets. The paper will be shredded, pulped and dried to create recycled paper. This will be available for anyone; but will also be sent to local comic artists so they can reform the existing memories and stories embedded within. They will create new graphic novels and comics which will be sold in-store.

Making your way into the workshop it’s time to select some reformed paper to revive into new life

Reforme provides a semi-closed-off reading nook. Here you can relax into the organic cotton seats where you are surrounded by nature and warm lighting

Following the curved path, you can browse the comics and graphic novels that have been commissioned by local artists
