Renu is a water use earbud designed for individuals with enlarged ear canals after Cholesteatoma surgery, offering reliable protection where current solutions fail. The design uses a three point system to create a stable, comfortable, and effective seal against water. An adjustable behind ear loop provides secure placement, supported by a bendable internal wire that allows the user to shape the fit without compromising comfort. A raised overlay sits over the canal entrance to anchor the device and add an extra layer of protection.

At the core is an oval medical grade silicone earbud shaped to match the natural form of the modified ear canal, improving retention and increasing water resistance compared to standard circular earbuds. All components detach for thorough cleaning, extending product life and reducing the single use behaviour common in water blocking devices. The structural housing is intended to be produced in water safe polypropylene, with potential to incorporate recycled ocean plastics.

Renu presents as a refined, non medical product with a clean visual identity inspired by surf and skate culture. Designed to Renu confidence in and around water, it supports users in safely returning to everyday activities such as swimming and showering without fear of water entering the ear.
