Growing up being incredibly underweight left me with a lot of unsolved mental health issues when it came to being able to feel safe in my body which has led me into creating this project around discovering that I am perfect in my skin. I wanted to create a project that that was able to provide a voice into a subject that has been highly overlooked within the world of mental health. My audience consists of teenagers and young adults, specifically men who struggle with their own personal body image and struggle to accept themselves for who they are. After several weeks of research into the history and different kinds of body shaming I was surprised to find the number of articles online “debunking skinny shaming as a concept and straight up denying it as a concept. This only helped to make me more passionate about this project as I wanted to create something that would shine a light on this overlooked form of body shaming and mental health.
