Blending Bright Therapy into a home environment

Bright Light Therapy (BLT) is a holistic method for those struggling with ‘Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)’. This occurs during the winter seasons where depressive symptoms rise, effects on circadian rhythm, and lack of sunlight. About 5% of the world's population experience this disorder. This is a condition that can last 40% of the year.

How a Bright Light Therapy lamp works; the user has a portable BLT device arm’s length away and exposes themselves to a light that produces 10,000lux for at least 30 minutes for a few days to gain full effectiveness to reduce symptoms.

The Solis wall light is an object inspired by the movement of the sun, “Sun Path”, as Bright Light Therapy Lamps are meant to be devices replicating the sun's light intensity in a user’s home. The light can be taken off the wall and set up on any flat surface. The rail acts as a docking system for the light panel, so it's always charged, and ready to go when needed. Applying this device into the form of a wall light creates purpose and a place for the device to return to. Forming easy accessibility and now becomes an object the user wants to show in their home, rather than store away.
