ISOLATION IN EDUCATION

This project was created to help children with dyslexia understand that they are just as powerful and innovative as their classmates, building their confidence and self-worth. In this project, the methods used include typography treatment, specialist feedback, and prototyping. 1 in 10 New Zealand children has dyslexia and low self-esteem due to being behind their classmates. Between the ages of zero and eight, a child’s brain grows to 88%. This is the most important time for a child to develop good habits and an understanding of the world. Providing children aged four to eight with playful, entertaining colour publications and supporting activities can help nurture a kind, confident child.  This project focused on creating positive experiences for children in New Zealand schools, showing them how dyslexia isn't a negative or embarrassing issue.
