The Death of the Designer?

Artificial intelligence (AI) has become embedded in everyday life and increasingly influences creative industries. As AI continues to develop, questions surrounding automation, creativity, and the future role of human designers have become more significant.

The Death of the Designer? explores the relationship between AI and young designers through print design and cross-media platforms. Research examined the hidden costs of AI, human-AI relationships, and AI's impact on young designers, informing a practice-led design process.

The project outcomes include an A3 publication, an interactive website, and a series of A2 posters that encourage awareness, participation, and critical reflection. Rather than portraying AI as entirely beneficial or adversarial, the project explores the complexity of its influence, highlighting that the future relationship between designers and AI depends on how humans choose to engage with and direct it.
